4B SUNDAY, OCTOBER 30, 2011 HI DEATHS MiamiHerald.com THE MIAMI HERALD ROBERT PRITZKER, 85 Founder of Pritzker family's global business CHICAGO (AP) Businessman Robert Pritzker, who founded a global industrial conglomerate, has died. He was 85. Pritzker's executive assistant, Becky Spooner, said Friday that Pritzker died Thursday evening at a Chicago nursing facility. He had Parkinson's disease. Pritzker's family founded the Hyatt Hotel chain.

Robert Pritzker founded Chicago-based Marmon Group, an industrial conglomerate of manufacturing and service companies. The company was sold to Berkshire Hathaway in 2008. Company officials say his business acumen helped its revenues grow into the billions of dollars over 50 years. Pritzker graduated from the Illinois Institute of Technology with an industrial engineering degree in 1946. Pritzker was the brother of Jay Pritzker, who was founder and chairman of the Hyatt Hotel chain and among the richest people in the United States when he died in 1999.

SHOCKETT, william "BILLY" EDWARD, passed away on Thursday at his home in Miami Beach after a courageous three year battle with brain cancer. Billy was born in Baltimore, Maryland to Harry Mollye.

He came to Miami Beach with his mother sister Betsy (Singer). Billy attended Miami Beach Senior High School where he met his closest, life-long friends with whom he continued to have weekly card games at his house, for the same stakes that they played for in High School. After graduating Beach High, he received his law degree from the University of Miami. For almost twenty-eight years, Billy was a Devoted Best Friend and Loving Husband to Jill. He was a proud and wonderful father to Jeremy, Jordan and the late Joshua.

He was an active and energetic Miami Beach City Commissioner Vice-Mayor for four elected terms and the Vice President and General Counsel for City National Bank of Miami for more than twenty-five years. Billy was committed to the success of his community; he was a past president of the Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce, the Bar Association, the Kiwanis Club, the Miami Ski Club, the AEPi Fraternity and various other local and state organizations. He loved being the Master of Ceremonies at countless events, especially playing Santa Claus while driving a decorated Harley-Davidson for the Childrens Cancer Caring Center's Holiday Event. Billy was a loyal and dedicated friencf to so many. He was also a strong-willed, fair boss because of his compassion for his work and his Love for the Abess Family.

Billy was an extraordinarily special and dedicated person to his family, his friends, and to all who knew him. At that time, he was also the only radiologist at James Archer Smith Hospital, now Homestead Hospital. Dr. Nesbitt served on the South Miami Hospital Board of Governors, and retired from the hospital in the late 1 980s. He was also a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. His life and career were an example of dedication and service to others.
