Tarek El Moussaand wife Heather Rae did not hesitate to hit back at fans who blasted their latest Instagram video as 'violent' and even compared it to real-life murders

The 42-year-old former Flip Or Flop star and his 36-year-old Selling Sunset star wife recently shared a humorous video to plug their upcoming television project with his ex wife Christina Hall, 40, and her current husband Josh Hall, 43.

In the short clip Heather could be seen with a big black trash bag in hand behind her husband as she snatches him up in it.

In the next seen she is seen walking out of the house with the bag over her shoulder as she tosses it into the trashcan outside.

Text could be seen over the video which read: 'When your husband tells you wer'e filming a show with his ex wife'

The caption of the video - which featured JoJo's 2004 hit Leave (Get Out) playing in the background - read: 'Stepping into drama, while taking out the trash.'

Some of their fans did not find the clip humorous as one commented: 'Noooooo. This isn’t funny. This is very violent and there have been too many REAL LIFE murders like this. Don’t want to rain on your parade but change the optics.'

Tarek did not hesitate to respond to this claim as he said this was done in good spirit and supposed to be funny.

He responded: 'in this case it’s a husband and a wife playing.'

Another commenter wrote: 'This is so no[t] respectful towards your husband. What would feminist do if it was the other way around.? Don forget the show was his originally not yours. He is building you up and you reply with this joke? Not funny.'

This time it was Heather who responded as she said: 'take a break… calm yourself. My husband is in on the joke… And don't forget I came from a world famous show myself on a network called Netflix and my husband and I are creating our new shows together.'

There were followers who did find the video humorous as one shared: 'oh geez, lighten up! Dark humor is hilarious'

The reality show power couple alluded to their upcoming project which sees Tarek teaming up with his ex-wifeChristina Hallas the former married couple famed from their series Flip or Flop, are set to collaborate with their new spouses on an HGTV series titled The Flip Off.

In a recent promo Tarek and Christina were seen with their respective spouses - Heather El Moussaand Josh Hall- in a preview for the upcoming series, which is slated to hit the air early next year.

Flip or Flop ran for 10 total seasons from 2013-2022, with Tarek and Christina continuing to work on the series after their 2016 split.

The Flip Off, according to HGTV, will pit the new couples - Tarek and Heather; and Christina and Josh - against one another 'to see who can find, buy, renovate and flip a house for the biggest financial gain.'

In the preview, shared on social media Wednesday by the stars and the network, Christina was heard saying that she 'never thought [she'd] be doing this.'

Tarek, seen exiting a car with Christina in the clip, was heard saying, 'This is one of the defining moments of my life.'

The announcement of the forthcoming TV show comes a day after Christina and Heather collaborated on an Instagram clipplaying on the notion that they look like one another.

In the clip, Christina and Heather wore identical outfits and had their hair styled in a similar manner.

They jokingly introduced themselves by the other's first name before Heather said, 'Wait no, that's not right' to which Christina said, 'Must be all that bleach.'

Tarek emerged in the clip, adding of his current wife and former wife, 'Well, I guess it is confusing.'

The post was captioned, 'I guess you're not the only ones confused.'

Christina and Heather appear to have moved past speedbumps in their relationship, as they were pictured two years ago arguing in public, at a soccer game in Newport Beach, California in May of 2022.

Tarek and Josh were also seen in a heated discussion in the incident, which appears to be behind the couples, who are channeling their energies into the forthcoming TV competition.

In the wake of Flip or Flop's conclusion in 2022, both Christina and Tarek have had their own shows on HGTV.

Christina's work includes Christina on the Coast and Christina in the Country, the latter of which includes Hall, also a realtor by trade.

Tarek's shows include Flipping 101 with Tarek El Moussa and later The Flipping El Moussas, which costars Heather, who previously appeared on the Netflix series Selling Sunset.

Tarek and Christina were wed from 2009 to 2016, finalizing their divorce in 2018. They are parents to daughter Taylor, 13, and son Brayden, eight.

Christina is also mother to son Hudson, four, with ex-husband Ant Anstead. She has been wed to Hall since 2022.

Tarek and Heather met in 2019 and wed in October of 2021. They are parents to one-year-old son Tristan.
