Particularly since the pandemic, we've seen the emergence of apps that simulate a physical therapist to deliver "physical therapy" at home. The only advantage to these apps, in my opinion, is convenience, which may lead to greater compliance with a program. Technology is necessary AND wonderful, but it needs to be used in a responsible and effective way that optimizes care, not just convenience. Almost any physical therapist will tell you - there is no more patient-centered model than one-on-one care. The hybrid in-person/virtual model offers some in-clinic or in-home visits, along with virtual care that is one-on-one with a PT, not a box full of sensors. Seems like a win-win to me! #physicaltherapist #virtualcare #bestpractices

“Helping patients change behaviors and managing a busy schedule has always been a challenge for physical therapists.”Physical Therapists (PTs) are drawn to the profession to care for others and help them achieve their goals. When technology gets in the way of their ability to do this it can lead to frustration and burnout. But, when technology augments and enhances care, it can help communicate the value of that care to patients unlocking a level of compassion and accomplishment that PTs thrive on.This article from MedCity News speaks to finding this balance and that sweet spot that FIGUR8, Inc. as a technology partner aspires to occupy. How do you see technology improving #physicaltherapy?Let us know in the comments below.https://lnkd.in/gmrET2tr

Online physical therapy is not one-size-fits-all, but it is advantageous for many! While traditional in-person physical therapy remains invaluable, let's not overlook the incredible advantages of online therapy for certain individuals. Here are a few examples of why:1️⃣ Accessibility: Online physical therapy breaks down barriers of distance and mobility. It enables those in remote areas or with limited transportation to access expert care from the comfort of home.2️⃣ Increased motivation: Remote communication can also make it easier to ask questions and seek clarification. Doing physical therapy in the comfort of your own home can also make it easier to stay motivated.3️⃣ Time efficiency: Online physical therapy can save time. With no waiting room or commute, appointments can be completed much more quickly. This can be helpful for patients with busy schedules.---------------------------------------------Have you been on the fence about physical therapy? Yesterday we shared 5 reasons why virtual physical therapy is the future. Today and over the next few days we are going to go in-depth on each of those reason. Starting with the most important reason, reason #1 - Higher Pay for Physical Therapists. If you want to build any successful company or industry for that matter, it needs to start with the people inside of it and empowering them to be as successful as possible. Virtual physical therapy and our company in particular does just that. Here's how virtual physical therapy provides better pay and opportunities for PTs:Virtual physical therapy offers physical therapists (PTs) an attractive proposition by allowing them to substantially increase their earning potential. This is primarily achieved through:Flexibility: PTs can create more flexible schedules, accommodating a wider range of clients, including those who prefer evening or weekend sessions. This flexibility can lead to a significant increase in the number of billable hours.Greater Efficiency: Virtual therapy eliminates the downtime associated with traditional in-person clinics, such as waiting for patients to arrive or preparing treatment rooms. PTs can maximize their time with clients, thus increasing their income.Expanded Client Base: The geographical constraints of traditional clinics are removed, enabling PTs to reach clients from a broader geographic area. This expanded reach can result in a larger client base, further boosting income potential.Reduced Overhead: With virtual therapy, PTs often have lower overhead costs, allowing them to retain a more substantial portion of their earnings.Better Training: We have created educational courses that can be taken in several weeks online and teach PTs how to successfully start, build, and scale a virtual PT business. To learn more about virtual PT give us a follow. If you are interested in our training modules that teach any PT how to become a virtual PT, comment "I want to go virtual!"
