A nice new ship and a pleasant cruise
"
Because the food comes from a smaller kitchen which appears only to serve the Club Orange restaurant, even with the same ingredients the meal is better than one that needs to travel from a huge kitchen through a large dining room.I have no idea what the breakfast and dinner service was like in the main dining room, whether or not it took time to get seated, or how long one normally had to wait to get on a tender boat to leave the ship.

First time on a Pinnacle class ship and the Rotterdam did not disappoint. Embarkation was very simple with priority boarding given for being in a Neptune Suite. Loved our aft wrap around cabin. This afforded us great views aft and starboard to see the majestic fjords.Food was great! Rudi’s and Pinnacle Grill were treats but the Club Orange was a wonderful surprise. Great service and

I absolutely loved the Fjords. It was so incredible and it was easy to book excursions on shore. I would love to do wthis cruise again with my entire family. The nature was so incredibly beautiful it almost seemed unreal. I booked this cruise late in the game but it didn't affect the experience I was able to have. Embarkation in Rotterdam went well and I absolutely love the fact the cabin is

We chose this cruise because it included four ports in Scotland. My wife and I have been on about a dozen cruises, and this one featured several "best ever" and some disappointing experiences. Embarkation in Rotterdam was the best ever. From the time we dropped our bags to arrival at our cabin was no more than 25 minutes. Our standard veranda cabin was also our favorite. It felt spacious, with

Fourth Cruise with Holland America. Always had exceptional food and service. They have changed to gourmet food which translates at least to me as decorated plates with small portions. Coffee was cold to warm, toast done on one side only small portions with sauce on everything even after repeated request not to put any sauce on my food. Sent food back on numerous occasions only to have it

The trip of a lifetime! Holland America hosted us as we experienced the fjords of Norway in a way that was unlike any other. This was the experience of a lifetime. I cannot imagine a cruise ever being more enjoyable. The Fjords were the most amazing part of this journey. We were so glad that we had booked a balcony, because we sat for hours watching the fjords go by. We were also amazed

With over 30+ cruises, this was our first time on HA Rotterdam. The ship is a beauty, with the most modern design among the HA Pinnacle class ships. The world stage is very impressive with a panorama design, and the overall layout of the facilities is very functional. We cruised from Rotterdam to Norway and back.Cabin crew and service were great. The food and service in the main dining room

I have never written a review before, but after attending the Meet & Greet and reading too many negative reviews on this site, I was compelled to contribute. This was my third TA on HAL, and in many ways the best. The staff were attentive, the food was excellent, and the seas were calm (which of course no one ever has any control over).I will agree there is not as much programming for sea

About Us: We are 60 and recently retired. This was our 28th cruise but only our 2nd on Holland America. We sailed with them to Alaska in 2008 and had a marvelous time. Pros: The ship was immaculate. Embarkation and debarkation were effortless. Cabin was ready at 12:30. Balcony cabin was clean, well designed and the shower was fantastic. Loved the chairs on the balcony. Anytime dining
